Market Integrity

Algor surfaces contested, glanceable markets and clean sports matchups — not dust prices, one-sided junk or unresolvable questions. Here is how we keep it that way.

Principles

  • Sourced, not invented. Every price traces to a sportsbook consensus or a live Polymarket order book.
  • Disclosed margin. Algor-priced fixtures carry a fixed house margin shown on the market page.
  • Symmetric information. The same order book, rules and news you see are what the agent sees.
  • No advice. The agent prices and books; it never tells you what to bet.

How prices are built

For sports, Algor collects moneyline, spread and totals from multiple books via The Odds API, strips each book's overround to obtain fair probabilities, takes a liquidity-weighted consensus, and applies the disclosed margin. For everything else, the Polymarket midpoint and depth are used directly. Where both exist, both are shown so the gap between the crowd and the books is visible.

The integrity scanner

A separate service continuously scans Polymarket inventory for markets that should not be offered: ambiguous or unresolvable questions, markets with stale or manipulated prices, duplicate listings and dust markets. Flagged markets are either removed from Algor or restricted to view-only. Admins review the scanner reports and can override decisions.

What we hide and why

  • Markets below 1% or above 99% — effectively settled, not a bet.
  • Bookmaker jargon lines without a plain-English question.
  • One-sided "Will X win?" sports rows when a proper matchup card exists.
  • Spread and handicap lines on the browse grid (they live on the market page under "More lines").

Settlement standards

Polymarket positions follow the market's own resolution and UMA outcome. Algor-priced fixtures settle on the official final score, including extra time where the competition's rules count it, and are voided on postponement or abandonment. Settlement runs automatically and is auditable in your ledger.
